(Sanguinaria canadensis) Bloodroot is one of the most iconic spring wildflowers of eastern North America. It is used mainly for its antiseptic properties to treat bronchial issues, oral health, severe throat infections, heart problems, treating migraines and more.
Bloodroot can also be made into a paste or salve to be used externally for skin diseases, warts, and tumors. The root can be used as an anesthetic, cathartic, emetic, emmenagogue, expectorant, diuretic, febrifuge, sedative, stimulant and tonic.
